The difference between a Spoiler and a Rear Wing

Spoiler - This is not a common thing to find on a Cappuccino trunk lid. And that despite Suzuki selling one in option. They were small and low profile affairs bonded-on pieces of urethane, there more for looks than for any real aerodynamic advantage. But now we do have a few in option which can break up the rear rounded shame to a more sporty look. It is relatively inexpensive, and a good place to start with if on a tight budget.

Wing - Generally refers to the larger, more radical spoiler designs on the after market. It’s actually an appropriate word considering that many do look (in profile) and often act (in theory) like an airplane wing, only smaller and style specific to an auto. The wing's primary purpose is to increase downforce, i.e., push the rear of the car down when you are traveling at a high speed or even low speed depending on the application and needs. This slight increases traction and may allow for some more extreme driving in ideal applications, but this shouldn’t be construed as saying that a simple double decker aluminum wing will suddenly allow your stock Cappuccino to drive like an F1 racer.

Now that we have the primary terminology out of the way, let's go into choosing one that we are going to reproduce. But before we do, we need your advice. We have chosen 12 different wings and spoilers. Which one would you choose for your Cappuccino? Lets say that they are all about £250. We don't want the price to be an issue at this stage. Choose according to the look!

Once we have found what the majority of you would like to purchase, we will get them manufactured. Maybe in Carbon fibber or fibber glass. We want them to be of the highest quality, yet affordable.

Give us your say about how much you will like the new Cappuccino Sport rear wing or spoiler to be? What materiel? Do you have another design you would like to propose? Can you improve on the one we have proposed?

Looking forward to hear from you.
